How do they spread themselves?

Since these insects thrive in different items around the house, it is more likely that they or their eggs cling on these items. These insects crawl at a rapid pace so they can easily infest other rooms or other units in a particular apartment building. They are usually moving from one point to another in boxes or suitcases carried by a person. There are also cases that a person doesn’t know that his clothing is infested with bed bugs so he unknowingly spread in different places.

How can you tell whether skin bites are caused by these small bugs?

Chinches are generally known to be blood suckers and they don’t choose their victims – animals and human pose to be their top favorite victims for that. When a person is asleep, any of his exposed body parts such as his neck, arms, and face are commonly the target of these bugs. However, bug bites aren’t painful and they are hardly noticed. However, you have to be aware of the different signs and symptoms of bed bug bites. This includes little, flat, and raised bumps on the skin. The skin may also suffer from swelling, redness, and itching and when you scratch these signs, they will easily get infected. What is strange is that these bugs tend to give sequential bites in a row and bug experts call these sequential bites as the bugs’ breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Bedbug bites are hard to identify so most of the time, they are commonly mistaken as causes of mosquito or other insects. These bugs also have glands that produce odors and they leave dark fecal traces behind the spots where they are leaving.

On the other hand, there are no studies yet that have proven bedbugs to be carriers of infectious microbes. However, there have been researchers who have implicated bed bugs as the carriers of Chagas disease or American trypanosomiasis. Studies are also being conducted to prove whether bed bugs are potential disease carriers or not.

What is the cure for chinch bites?

When a person is bitten by a bedbug, no bed bugs treatment is ever required. Itching is common to these bites and when itching persists, steroid creams are often used to relieve the itching. For areas that have been infected due to heavy scratching, antibiotics are commonly prescribed.

Is it possible to detect bug infestation in a home?

Of course, you can. To start your investigation, you need to look for traces of fecal stains, shed skin, and egg cases in the crevices of your bed or mattress. It is also important to look on items and places, which are not usually noticed such as the back of picture frames, behind wallpaper, clothing, and other furniture items in your home. Although you have found fecal traces and skin, these things do not necessarily confirm that the infestation is still eminent in your home. To trace the presence of infestation, you have to observe the bugs themselves. This can be somewhat a rigorous job to do, as you will be spotting small insects at home. To simplify the job, contact a bedbug specialist in your area for assistance.
