Do I Have Bed Bugs?
Have you ever wondered how to find if you have chinches in your home or office? Probably the answer to this question is “Yes”, right? So, let’s start this article with some of the most useful tools for finding bed insects. You will need some pretty common tools such as a flashlight and a screwdriver; a magnifier glass or hand lens; tweezers or a paint brush; some gloves; a knife or a thin plastic, which can be very helpful for crevices and canned air to push them out from their hiding places.
In the video below this bedbug bites article you will find some great examples of such infestation, but the most important are to look for bed bugs signs on your furniture. Search for bumps and stains on the mattresses or wood, also for live bed bugs, their shed skins and egg cases (empty of full). Starting with bed bugs prevention is always a great idea when it comes to getting rid of chinches.
Start from the bedroom
It’s a good idea to start searching for bedbugs from the bedroom area and radiate out from there. These nasty bugs won’t originate from your closet, they will most probably originate from your bed. This is the first place everyone should see evidence, unless they are coming in from a neighbour, for example.
Here is a short list of places to inspect when looking for these nasty creatures: the linens, under the pillows, inside pillowcases and mattress seams. On top and under the box spring there is usually wood and bed bugs just love wood, because this place is well hidden and it doesn’t move a lot. Search on and behind the headboard and all parts of the bed frame, underside and the drawers.
Look even in the most uncommon places
Sometimes people don’t see the signs from chinch infestation, so you’ll have to look closer. Even the lamp, the alarm clock, the remote control for your TV can be a good hiding spots for these nasty creatures. Don’t forget to check along the carpeting edge, base moldings, under wall hanging, light switch plates and all kinds of bed and living-room furniture. There are some cases in which bugs can be found in rather unusual places such as in books, for instance, so be on the alert.
