Chinch Handling

Invaded by parasites rooms must be profoundly cleaned. In order to exterminate the chinches at all stages, laundered bedding has to be dried thoroughly in a hot dryer. Wool blankets should be dried and cleaned too. All infested areas, including beds, mattress, box springs, furniture, headboards, sofas etc., must be vacuumed carefully. The void area underneath box springs should be treated likewise.

What if we have already experienced some of the bed bugs symptoms?

Use the vacuum cleaner with the same care on the border between the carpet and the wall. Pay special attention near the head of the bed. Upon finishing cleaning, vacuum cleaner’s bag must be disposed immediately. Coordinate your efforts with a pest control pro, in case you intend to use steam cleaning for the carpets, because it must be done before applying any pesticides. In case of a severe bed bug infestation, removing carpets might be a good idea. These are several good ideas on how to get rid of bed bugs.

Throwing mattresses away, as suggested by some people, would help if they are in poor condition. The same applies for the foundation. But if the mattress is new or in good state, the bed bugs’ invasion can be prevented using tightly woven zippered cover to encase the mattress. All sizes of beds are covered by the bedclothes available in the market. To make sure all the parasites are dead, keep the mattress covered for at least a year and also don’t forget to enclose the foundation. By reducing the clutter to the bare necessities, you will increase the effectiveness of the treatments, leaving less places for the bugs to hide.

Treatment Chinches with chemicals

The parasite control can be enhanced by non-chemical methods such as laundering, steaming, vacuuming and mattress encasement, but the bed bug population needs more powerful tools in order to be extirpated – insecticides. Using it in sleeping areas from the other hand, brings potential risks for human health, so it is very important to apply only safe products. Make sure the label of the insecticide confirms, that you can treat sheets or mattresses with it.

Always read labels of the products you’re using carefully. Identifying and treating all possible bed bugs is essential. Make sure you have covered all surfaces and void areas, using liquid preparations. However, we recommend using a professional pest control service, because proper treatment requires some experience. The effectiveness of pest control might be improved by using and combining more and different types of insecticides, which professionals can easily provide.

It takes between 6 and 17 days for one of these eggs to hatch, the result being a nymph which is pin head sized at the moment of the emergence. As the nymph keeps growing, it leaves behind its skin a couple of times, needing a blood meal each time it does this. If it has all the conditions for it, the nymph can become an adult after one month. The numbers say that in just one year, three bed bug generations can appear. That’s only if all the conditions are met, since the lack of food or the wrong temperature will delay their development. Unfortunately they don’t die and they can remain without food for months. As for the adults, they can live without food for over a year. [...]
